DRAMA - CRIME | ISRAEL | HEBREW WITH ENGLISH SUBTITLES | TV-MA
Originally aired as Bnei Aruba, Hostages begins with one mother's impossible decision: kill the prime minister or watch her family die. Her family's hostage crisis sets off a sequence of events that will reveal a far more complex political web.
The night before Yael is scheduled to operate on the prime minister, four masked men take her and her family hostage. She must kill the prime minister during surgery or her family dies. The shocking identity of the kidnapping leader is revealed.
Yael stalls by injecting the prime minister with medication that disrupts the surgery. Yael's teenage daughter, Noa, discovers she's pregnant while her son, Assaf, continues selling exams online from the school his father manages.
Pressured by Adam, Yael schedules the surgery to take place in four days. When the kidnappers agree to help Eyal, the father, with his debt to the mafia, he steals a gun from the mobsters. Disagreements begin among the hostage takers.
After Adam gets a phone call warning that his plan has been found out, his cohorts begin to suspect that he's hiding information from them. Nadav, Noa's boyfriend, infiltrates the house to help, and Eyal is injured.
Yael tends to the wounded Eyal, whose condition worsens. When Ella steps out to buy medical supplies, she makes contact with her mysterious operator who demands the prime minister be killed. Yael and Adam share an unexpected moment.
When Eyal develops an infection, Yael leaves the house to get medication and manages to break into Adam's home, where she finds a woman's medical documents. Assaf helps Ella crack a computer file, which turns out to be disturbing security footage.
At the hospital, Yael discovers something suspicious about the medical documents she found. After learning how Eyal may have put the family in danger, she tells Nadav to take the children and run and asks Noa to contact the prime minister's security.
Nadav's escape with Noa and Assaf does not go according to plan. Adam and Yael head to the hospital. Noa manages to contact Giora, the prime minister's head of security, who picks her up. But is he who he says he is?
Adam brings Noa back to the house, where Alex has taken control. At the hospital, Yael discovers a lead on the medical documents and follows him to an apartment, where the pieces of the hostage puzzle start coming together.
Adam has ended up on the other side of the situation, and Yael is now in control. Yael watches the tape that Ella left on Assaf's computer and realizes the truth behind Adam's motives. How will she respond?
